AFGHANISTAN

USAID REPORT ON U.S. GOVERNMENT WOMENS EARMARK FUNDING IN AFGHANISTAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008 (2009)

Report on activities and projects attributed to the Women’s earmark Congressional funding. The report, Report on U.S. Government Women’s Earmark in Afghanistan for Fiscal Year 2008 was published by USAID in May 2009.

USAID LOCAL GOVERNANCE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (2007): COMMUNITY CONFLICT AND STABILITY SPECIALIST

In Kabul and Herat, the aim of the assignment was to increase the capacity of LGCD staff to integrate local stability initiatives and interventions into community mobilization processes and community development activities. Evaluation of conflict resolution grants in Herat, and the assessment of peace councils.

FINAL EVALUATION OF USAID/OTI PROJECTS (2005): EVALUATION SPECIALIST

Evaluation of small grants undertaken by USAID Office of Transition Initiatives in Afghanistan over four years (2002-2005). These included grants for infrastructure, gender programs, community initiatives, election awareness and government support. Evaluation of strategic relevance, community participation, linkages between government and community, and links between central and provincial governments. Coverage included Kabul (Kabul Province), Mazur-e-Sharif (Balkh Province), Kandahar (Kandahar Province), Nawaj (Parwan Province), Lashkar Gar (Helmand Province), Samangan (Samangan Province) and Gardez (Paktia Province).

USAID/OTI EVALUATION OF REINTEGRATION AND STABILIZATION IN EAST AND NORTH SRI LANKA (2013/14)

Performance evaluation for Office of Transition Initiatives to assess achievement of objectives; effectiveness of approach tosocial cohesion, civic engagement & reintegration, response to emerging needs, promoting community-level reconciliation, and strengthening local capacity for conflict mitigation.

AUSAID/DFAT MIDTERM EVALUATION OF PROJECT CHILDHOOD IN THE SUB-MEKONG REGION (2013)

An assessment of the sub-regional program in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam & Laos to combat child sexual exploitation in travel and tourism (CSETT). Evaluation of Prevention Pillar and Protection Pillar, and their integration, to assess children’s awareness & stakeholder capacity to prevent CSETT; legal frameworks, law enforcement & investigations, UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) & INTERPOL strategies, and cross-border cooperation in South East Asia.

US DEPARTMENT OF LABOR MIDTERM (2011) AND FINAL EVALUATION OF CHILD LABOR MITIGATION IN NEPAL (2013)

Program to end child labor & child trafficking; assessed design, implementation, management, database, strategic plans, outcomes, & impact (using OECD-DAC criteria). Interventions: literacy, pre-vocational, vocational, livelihoods/income generation, scholarships, school safety, child friendly schools, & child friendly local governance.

US MCC TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (TVET) – COMPETITIVE GRANTS PROGRAM – IN MONGOLIA (2010)

Public & private partnerships; dissemination of best TVET practices; grant/project management; formulated grant administration and tracking manual; capacity building of TVET institutional & Ministry staff – M&E and Financial Reporting guidelines (activity indicators, performance management plans). Sectors included oil & gas, construction, textiles, computing, engineering, & beauty/nutrition.
